Monday, Dec. 08, 2003 - 11:21 One minute meditation technique Whenever you feel physical, emotional, or spiritual stress, this method will relax you and get you more centered. It is so easy that it boggles the mind, and is perfect for those who are allergic to meditation in other forms. Get in a relaxed position. It can be standing, sitting, laying down. Whatever works for you. Some people say placing a couple of fingers just below the belly button and gently pressing against their abdomen helps, though this is optional and up to you if you want to use that part of it. Then simply take a slow deep diaphragmatic breath in through your nose. While inhaling say to yourself "I am." Hold your breath for a second. Then slowly exhale and say to yourself "relaxed." Repeat a couple of times. Now you'll feel a little bit more like you are able to take on the world! |
